We are building something that has never existed before.

EmergIT is a Community Interest Company with a single mission: to turn unemployed and underemployed graduates into founders. Not employees. Not interns. Founders.

We believe the next wave of economic disruption—driven by AI—will eliminate millions of graduate-level jobs before they are ever created. We also believe that the graduates most at risk are precisely the people most capable of building the businesses that will define what comes next.

We just need to get them in the room.

We are currently in Phase 1: building the foundation. The platform. The pipeline. The funding. And we are looking for five people to build it with us.

Read this carefully before you apply.

We are not hiring employees. We are not running a graduate scheme. We are hunting for five founding co-founders across five disciplines: a Lead Coordinator, a Tech/IT Lead, a Legal Co-Founder, a Finance Co-Founder, and a Marketing Co-Founder.

We are a pre-grant, zero-cash operation. We do not have a payroll. If you need a guaranteed salary starting next Monday, close this tab—and check back in six months.

What we are offering is a 6-Month Venture Sprint.

Here’s what this sprint demands—and what it makes possible.

  • The commitment: 15 hours a week—evenings and weekends. You keep your job, your Universal Credit claim, or your studies. We are not asking you to gamble your survival.
  • The mission: Build the Phase 1 automated intake platform, design the EmergIT programme, and secure the first £250,000 institutional grant.
  • The upside: If the grant is secured at the end of 6 months, you transition immediately into a full-time, salaried Executive Director role. If we fall short, we shake hands and you walk away with a portfolio piece that proves you helped build something real from nothing.

Zero financial risk to your daily life. Maximum upside if we win.

Five roles. One role per person.

When it is filled, it closes.

Role 1:

Lead Coordinator

Degree in Business, Management, or similar.

  • Coordinate the founding team across all five workstreams
  • Design the EmergIT programme structure—how we find, assess, support, and graduate cohorts
  • Build and manage the graduate recruitment pipeline for Phase 2
  • Own the day-to-day operational rhythm of the organisation during the sprint
  • Support the grant application process with programme documentation and impact evidence

Role 2:

Tech/IT Lead

Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or similar.

  • Design and build the automated graduate intake and assessment platform
  • Own the EmergIT website and all underlying tech infrastructure
  • Build AI tools and automation that allow the programme to scale without constant human intervention
  • Create the data systems and reporting infrastructure that underpins our grant applications
  • Evaluate and implement the minimum viable tech stack for the first programme cohort

Role 3:

Legal Co-Founder

Degree in Law—LLB, LPC, GDL, or similar. Qualified solicitor not required.

  • Draft and review core legal documents—co-founder agreements, grant terms, programme participant agreements
  • Maintain the CIC constitution and ensure ongoing compliance with CIC Regulator requirements
  • Support grant applications with legal and governance documentation
  • Build the legal template library that future programme graduates will use in their own ventures
  • Advise on the revenue share framework and ensure agreements are legally sound

Role 4:

Finance Co-Founder

Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or similar. Chartered accountant not required.

  • Set up and maintain EmergIT’s financial records and management accounts from day one
  • Build the financial model underpinning the £250,000 grant application—cost per graduate, programme unit economics, three-year projections
  • Design the grant disbursement framework—how the £5,000 per graduate is tracked, approved in three tiers, and reported
  • Ensure the CIC meets its financial reporting obligations to the CIC Regulator at Companies House
  • Manage the CIC’s banking relationship and financial controls

Role 5:

Marketing Co-Founder

Degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, Business, or similar

  • Draft and review core legal documents—co-founder agreements, grant terms, programme participant agreements
  • Maintain the CIC constitution and ensure ongoing compliance with CIC Regulator requirements
  • Support grant applications with legal and governance documentation
  • Build the legal template library that future programme graduates will use in their own ventures
  • Advise on the revenue share framework and ensure agreements are legally sound

Five roles. Five disciplines. One deal.

You have a relevant degree. You are unemployed, underemployed, or simply underutilised. You have looked at what is available to you and found it does not match what you know you are capable of.

We’re Not Hiring CVs. We’re Hiring Mindsets.

We are not looking for the most polished CV. We are not looking for someone who has already done this before. We are looking for someone with the right discipline, the right drive, and the self-awareness to know which of these five roles is theirs.

We are recruiting five people—one per role. When a role is filled, it closes. If you are reading this page, the role is still open.

Four questions. That is it.

We have deliberately kept this short. We do not want a cover letter. We do not want a list of references. We want to understand four things:

  1. Which role are you applying for—and why that role specifically?
  2. What is your degree and where did you study?
  3. What have you built, organised, delivered, or made happen—paid or unpaid—that demonstrates you can contribute in this role?
  4. What does the next six months of your life look like, and why is this the right moment to do something like this?

Answer those four questions honestly and we will read every word.

Applications are open now.

We are selecting five people—one per role. When a role is filled, it closes. If you are reading this, it is still open.
